ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter operates on well-managed private ranches across Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, and Wyoming. That footprint is unusually broad and gives hunters real choice in where and what they hunt. Big game and upland birds are both covered, with professional guides on ground the outfitter knows well. First-time western hunters and seasoned outdoorsmen are handled with the same attention, and the team helps set up the hunt rather than just booking it. Access to prime private ground is the core advantage here, since the ranches see far less pressure than public land. For hunters wanting a western trip in good country without piecing it together themselves, this operation covers a lot of territory.

HUNT DETAILS:
This hunt takes place in Unit 16 in central Wyoming, just west of Casper, which ranks among the premier elk areas in the state. The outfitter operates on the Q Creek Ranch, roughly two hundred seventy thousand acres of private land, and also holds permits for the surrounding BLM ground, which adds another two hundred fifty thousand acres. That combination gives hunters access to well over half a million acres and effectively removes the crowding problem that defines most elk hunting. The habitat here is exceptional, and the elk reflect it. Bulls scoring three hundred twenty to three hundred fifty and better are available on this ranch, and that quality holds consistently. The scale of the property means guides can move to wherever the elk are holding instead of hunting the same drainages repeatedly. With that much ground and that few hunters, a bull located one day can be hunted the next without interference. Hunters should come ready for long days on big country.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Lodging is a log cabin-style lodge that manages to be comfortable without feeling formal, and it makes a good place to land at the end of a long day. All hunts include lodging and meals, with the cooking handled by a skilled chef, so the food is a real part of the experience rather than an afterthought. The lodge has the amenities hunters need and sits surrounded by attractive scenery. Nothing has to be booked, bought, or coordinated once a hunter arrives. For a hunt on country this size, having a settled, comfortable base to return to each evening matters more than most hunters anticipate.
