FFL Firearm Transfers

Huntin' Fool charges just $25 for an FFL Transfer regardless if it is a pistol, rifle, shotgun or receiver.  The $25 is per firearm transferred.  4473 Application Forms can be completed on site. Those who do not hold a valid Utah Concealed Carry Permit will be subject to an additional $25 NCIS background check fee.

It is up to you to know if you are eligible to own a firearm. By law, we sell long arms to any persons 18 years and older of any states residence as long as you can legally own that firearm in your state. We sell pistols and receivers to Utah residents only over the age of 21. BCI runs all background checks and CFP checks in the state of Utah. We do all transfers by appointment when possible. We ask for your understanding with any delays in availability for transfers. Come by and let us help you!

Class 3 NFA Items (Silencers, SBRs, etc.)

Huntin' Fool is now a Class 3 NFA Firearms Dealer. Silencers (suppressors) can only be sold and transferred from our shop to Utah residents over the age of 21. Silencers are allowed for hunting purposes in all US states except for California, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington D.C. Many international destinations allow the use of silencers for hunting. Silencers are not allowed for hunting in Canada or Mexico. Check with your travel agent and airlines to make sure you can travel to your destination and use your silencer. 

Part 1, Option A : Purchase your silencer through the Huntin' Fool online store

We sell silencers, short-barreled rifles, and more through our online website at SilencerShop. Simply select your silencer(s), add an NFA Single Shot Gun Trust for $24.95 and place the order. SilencerShop will send your order directly to our location. NO transfer fees will be charged for anything ordered from our online store. Remember, there is no longer a $200 tax stamp per NFA item. If you have an established trust that you would like to use, please indicate in your Silencer Shop account as we use their services for all Form 4 submissions. Once the Form 3 has been approved by the ATF, Silencer Shop can send the silencer to Huntin' Fool. This begins the process of getting it approved for you to take home.

Part 1, Option B : Purchase your silencer through a third party with Huntin' Fool as the FFL dealer

Part 2 : Complete Registration, Certify, and Submit eForm 4

At least 2 visits to our location are required to obtain a Silencer. As of March 2026, the total process from payment to approved silencer transfer is approximately 4 weeks. 

• 1st visit - Kiosk
  • After completing your registration information, purchasing your silencer, and setting up your SilencerShop.com account, it's time to visit our kiosk. At this visit you will use the SilencerShop touchscreen kiosk to capture your signature and digital fingerprints. Our location is open 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday.
• 2nd visit - Certification (can be done remotely)
  • Once your eForm has been prepared and is ready to submit to the ATF, you will receive a notification email that says "Ready to Certify". You will need your eforms.atf.gov username and PIN number. This is a separate account from your SilencerShop account. This certification session can also be joined remotely using a phone or computer. We (the dealer) must join the session at the same time to certify and submit.
• 3rd visit - Transfer
  • After your Form 4 has been approved, it's time to come to the shop for the final transfer of the NFA item. You will need your photo ID to complete a basic 4473 digital form, the same form required when you purchase a firearm. Only then you may take the silencer home!
