ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter has been operating in Sonora, Mexico for many years and has built a strong reputation for desert bighorn sheep. Strict game management sits behind it, with year-round feeding and water programs and a focus squarely on age-class rams. Patience and discipline are the core of the program. Rams are monitored carefully and often passed one season so they can be taken at full maturity the next. Desert bighorn can add significant horn growth from one year to the next, which makes that restraint worth exercising. The result is a trophy gallery full of record-book rams, which is not something many sheep operations anywhere can claim.

HUNT DETAILS:
The outfitter's ten thousand acre property is built of rugged mountains, canyons, and rocky desert slopes, which makes ideal sheep habitat and a formidable place to hunt. Spot and stalk is the primary method. Hunters and guides glass from high vantage points at first and last light to locate mature rams, and once a target ram is identified the stalk begins. That usually means hiking across broken ground and then waiting out the animal to get inside shooting range. Desert sheep are notoriously sharp-eyed and wary, and they test skill, endurance, and patience in equal measure. The track record here is one hundred percent. Hunters of all abilities are accommodated, whether that means covering ground on foot or hunting high-rack style from a vehicle because of age or physical limitations. Each hunt is tailored to the individual. Whatever the method, the guides' knowledge of this terrain and of sheep behavior is what maximizes a hunter's opportunity at a true trophy ram.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunts are based out of a comfortable ranch house with modern amenities, including hot showers, running water, and clean bedrooms. There are four or more bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and different bed configurations depending on what a client needs. That setup works for a single hunter, a couple, a group of friends, or a corporate party. The food is authentic Mexican cooking prepared by skilled cooks who take pride in the work, with hearty meals, snacks, and refreshments available throughout the stay. Nobody heads into the field underfed. After days glassing in desert heat, that matters.
