HUNT DETAILS:
Sonora produces some of the largest mule deer in the world, which is why hunters keep going back. The country is rolling hills and canyons filled with desert vegetation, tall cactus, and mesquite, all of it providing both cover and feed for the deer that live there. The hunting is demanding. Sonoran desert mule deer are elusive animals with exceptional senses and the speed to be gone before a hunter reacts, and beating them takes patience, stealth, and real knowledge of the ground. This outfitter has taken trophy bucks using a range of tactics rather than one method. That flexibility is what makes Mexico work for nearly every hunter. A first-timer, a veteran who comes every year, an older hunter who can only hunt from the high-rack, and someone who wants to climb and glass the valley floors can all be accommodated here. ACCOMMODATIONS:
Lodging is a ranch house setup with running water, clean and comfortable bedrooms, and hot showers, which is more than a hunter has any right to expect this far out in Sonora. The food is a highlight. Authentic Mexican cooking prepared by cooks who take real pride in it, with a minimum of three meals a day and plenty of drinks and snacks available at any hour. Nobody goes hungry or thirsty on this trip. Between the ranch house, the food, and the pace of the evenings, the time off the mountain is a real part of the experience rather than just somewhere to wait out the dark.
