HUNT DETAILS:
Moose hunts take place in an expansive, roadless wilderness offering complete isolation and zero resident hunting pressure. Hunters pursue mature bull moose during an August through October season using a combination of horses, backpack hunting, river travel by jet boat, and selective aircraft access to reach remote country. Each moose hunt consists of 11 days in the field with 9 full hunting days, and hunters can expect to see a dozen to 20 or more different bull moose over the course of the hunt, along with cows and calves. Bulls harvested typically range from 58–64 inches wide, with multiple bulls each season exceeding 65 inches and scoring in the 230–250 B&C class. Success rates consistently run in the 90–100% range, with weather being the primary variable. Moose hunts are considered easy-moderate to moderate in difficulty and are well suited for hunters seeking a classic northern moose experience without extreme physical demands.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters are flown into a dedicated seasonal basecamp before moving into the field for the duration of the hunt. Horseback camps feature comfortable wall tents with wood stoves for cooking and relaxing during inclement weather, while backpack hunts utilize lightweight, high-quality mountain tents to remain mobile and efficient. Each hunter is provided their own sleeping tent unless they specifically request to share. Meals on horseback hunts include fresh breakfasts and suppers prepared by guides, while backpack hunts utilize high-quality freeze-dried meals and field-ready lunches. All meat care is handled by the guides and camp staff, ensuring proper butchering, hanging, and freezing whenever possible, with a strong commitment to full utilization of harvested animals.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses and tags are obtained over the counter, with hunters purchasing their own hunting and fishing licenses online once the annual system opens. After registration, the outfitter secures the required tags on the client’s behalf. Each hunter is allowed one animal per species type, with moose hunts limited to bull moose only. Wolves and wolverine are included at no additional charge, with up to three wolves allowed per hunter. All hunting takes place on government crown land, and the operation maintains exclusive access within its concession, ensuring a highly controlled and uncrowded hunting environment.
