ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This family-owned and operated British Columbia outfitting operation is based in one of the most diverse ecosystems in western Canada. Situated in the rain shadow of the Coast Mountains, the concession stretches from towering alpine peaks to arid, cactus-dotted river breaks—creating ideal habitat for a wide range of big game species. The area is widely recognized for its exceptional wildlife diversity and healthy populations of Mule Deer, Mountain Goat, Moose, Black Bear, Cougar, and California Bighorn Sheep.

Years of sound wildlife management, selective harvest practices, and responsible predator control have helped maintain strong age structures and excellent trophy quality. The philosophy behind the operation centers on stewardship—respecting wildlife, understanding herd dynamics, and harvesting mature animals in a sustainable manner.

The ownership brings decades of hands-on mountain experience to the concession. With backgrounds in guiding, horsemanship, wilderness travel, and international outfitting, they are deeply rooted in mountain culture and passionate about sharing authentic wilderness experiences. Their commitment is not only to successful harvests, but to ensuring every hunter leaves with a genuine understanding of the land and animals pursued.

HUNT DETAILS:
Mule Deer hunts offer both early-season alpine adventure and late-season rut opportunities, giving hunters multiple ways to tailor their experience.

High Alpine Backpack Hunts (September 1 – October 1):
Early-season hunts focus on bachelor groups located between 5,000 and 8,500 feet in elevation. This is a physically demanding but highly rewarding style of hunt. Hunters should arrive in strong physical condition, prepared for steep climbs and carrying personal gear. Access is typically gained within a few kilometers of the hunting area via 4×4 vehicles or ATVs, and in some cases high-quality electric mountain bikes are utilized to reach areas inaccessible to traditional machines.

Spot-and-stalk glassing is the primary method, with hunters spending long hours behind optics identifying mature bucks in velvet or transitioning to hard horn. This style consistently produces dark, heavy-horned bucks in the 150"–170" class, with opportunities for larger, true trophy-class deer in the 170"–190" range depending on conditions and hunter goals.

Late Season Rut Hunts (Mid-November – Early December):
The most action-packed period occurs from mid-November through early December when the rut is in full swing. As temperatures drop, mature bucks migrate to lower elevation winter ranges and begin actively searching for does. During this time, higher numbers of bucks are typically observed, and mature deer that avoided pressure earlier in the season become more visible.

This option is best suited to rifle hunters due to increased movement and longer-range opportunities. Hunts are conducted from the main basecamp or high-elevation horse camps (weather permitting) and involve a combination of 4×4 access, ATV travel, and classic glass-and-stalk tactics. Success rates during the rut are very strong, and this is an excellent time to pursue a heavy, mature buck on wintering grounds.

Multiple hunt styles are available, allowing clients to choose from fully backpack-style mountain hunts, vehicle-assisted access, or a comfortable lodge-based experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Most hunts are conducted from a comfortable and well-equipped basecamp located in the heart of the concession. The one-hour drive to camp provides stunning scenery before arriving at a permanent wall tent setup designed for comfort and functionality.

The basecamp can accommodate up to six hunters and features insulated floors and half walls, lighting and power for charging electronics, and a spacious cook tent with a dining and sitting area. Hunters enjoy hearty home-cooked meals blending North American and Mexican cuisine. An attached shower room, reliable generator power, and available Wi-Fi provide added comfort in a remote setting.

Each sleeping tent includes wood stoves, propane heater backups, and real memory foam mattresses for restful nights after long days in the field. An additional insulated cabin sleeps two hunters and includes its own shower and heat source.

Depending on hunt style and game movement, spike camps may be utilized. These include comfortable wall tents with kitchen setups and portable shower units, typically moved by ATV or electric bike. For alpine backpack hunts, lightweight mountain tents and premium gear are used, requiring hunters to carry their own equipment into the backcountry.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
All Mule Deer hunts are conducted under the regulations of British Columbia’s licensed outfitter system. Non-resident hunters must purchase the appropriate hunting license and species tag prior to the hunt.

License and tag fees are set annually by the province and are in addition to the hunt cost. The outfitter assists with securing required documentation and ensures all harvests comply with provincial regulations and quota systems.

Hunters should ensure passports are valid for international travel and confirm firearm import requirements if bringing their own rifle. The outfitter provides guidance on necessary paperwork and logistics to ensure a smooth and compliant hunting experience.
