HUNT DETAILS:
These guided elk hunts take place on a large private ranch in Oregon and offer hunters the opportunity to pursue trophy bulls, management bulls, or cow elk. The ranch is carefully managed to maintain quality hunting opportunities, with trophy bulls commonly averaging 300–330 inches and only a limited number of trophy hunts conducted each year. Management bull hunts focus on mature bulls with undesirable genetics, including bent or deformed pedicles, older regressed bulls, large 5-points, and club bulls that are commonly found on the property. Archery hunts take place from late August through September and provide an exciting rut hunting experience, while rifle hunts occur in late October and early November. Cow elk hunts are conducted after the bull seasons and offer consistent opportunities, with tags guaranteed while staying within the ranch’s annual harvest quota. These hunts are fully guided and include food, lodging, and guide services throughout the trip. The property falls within the Eagle Cap Zone for archery hunts and the Catherine Creek Unit for rifle season. Limited landowner tags may also be available, helping hunters bypass the draw and secure access to this highly managed private ranch opportunity.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations for these hunts are provided onsite at the ranch or cabins, allowing hunters to stay close to the hunting areas and enjoy a comfortable, convenient experience throughout the trip. Hunters can expect quality lodging, hearty meals, and a relaxing atmosphere after long days in the field. While food and lodging are included onsite, additional lodging and dining options can also be arranged in the nearby town for those who prefer to stay off the ranch. Located in northeastern Oregon near the community of La Grande, the area offers access to local amenities while still maintaining the remote feel and scenic beauty of a large working cattle ranch.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Oregon uses a preference point system for elk, deer, and antelope. 75% of the controlled draw permits will be issued to the applicants with the most points and the remaining 25% will be drawn randomly. The maximum number of points a non-resident can have for deer and antelope is 32 and elk is 31. Each year, it will increase by one point.
