ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter treats outfitting as a way of life rather than a hobby, and the passion behind it shows. They guide big game hunts in Wyoming for mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, antelope, moose, mountain lion, and black bear, which is nearly everything the state has. Their permits cover some of the most coveted units in western Wyoming, including a large portion of the Bridger-Teton National Forest and the Gros Ventre Wilderness. That kind of wilderness access is rare and it is the foundation of everything they offer. Summers are spent setting up camps and scouting for big bucks, bulls, and rams, so the work is well underway long before a hunter shows up.

HUNT DETAILS:
Western Wyoming is known for some of the finest trophy mule deer hunting in the world, and the reasons are structural. Superior genetics, abundant vegetation, high mountain basins, natural winter range, and rugged terrain with plenty of cover all combine to let bucks reach maturity. Hunters can expect to be hunting bucks in the one hundred sixty to one hundred ninety inch class, with a few over two hundred taken every year. This is remote and demanding country, so hunters should prepare physically well ahead of the trip. Mornings start well before daylight with a horseback ride to the day's hunting area, and from there almost all of the hunting is done on foot. Days are spent moving between vantage points and glassing valleys and hillsides for the right buck. Spot and stalk is the most effective method here and the one the guides rely on. Hunters comfortable in the saddle and on their feet get the most out of it.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Camps are packed in and fully set up well before hunters arrive, so nobody spends a day building camp. Sleeping tents measure ten by twelve and hold two hunters each, outfitted with cots, mattresses, lanterns, and a wood-burning stove, which makes for a comfortable place to come back to after a cold morning. The dining tents are spacious and serve as the gathering point at the end of the day. Full-time cooks handle the food, and the meals are hearty, home-cooked western fare. Nobody goes hungry in these camps. After long days of riding and climbing, a warm tent and a real meal are what make the next morning possible.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses for all seasons and hunts in Wyoming are allocated through the state draw. Each unit and season require different numbers of preference points to draw a license. Huntin' Fool License Application Service will help you apply at the time of application.
