DESCRIPTION:

This US-based outfitter started guiding over 20 years ago, and has been running his own business over the last 5 years. He has been expanding across the Western United States, and as of 2019, he began operating in Mongolia. Through family relationships, he was able to meet his now Mongolian business partner. His Mongolian business partner grew up in the area and is very well connected. The pairing of these two owners has created the best of both worlds for US clients. They are hands-on owners, and also, they are present on every hunt! Once hunters arrive in Mongolia they will be there to greet you, and will be there to coordinate with local guides, people, travel, etc., the entire trip!

Their hunting areas are home to healthy populations of ibex, offering ample opportunities for hunters to pursue this majestic species. The abundance of ibex ensures that hunters have a good chance of encountering game during their expedition. The remote and rugged nature of Mongolia's wilderness, coupled with the thrill of the hunt, makes hunting ibex in Mongolia an exhilarating adventure from start to finish. From trekking through mountainous terrain to stalking elusive prey, the entire experience is filled with excitement and adrenaline.

The entire team is very versed in the areas and terrain. They prioritize safety at all times during the hunt. They're aware of potential hazards such as steep terrain, unpredictable weather, and wildlife encounters. Follow their lead and you'll have a great trip! They understand the importance of ethical and sustainable hunting practices for the conservation of wildlife populations. They respect bag limits, hunt responsibly, and contribute to conservation efforts in the region.

The hunt often involves trekking through rugged terrain and high altitudes. Ensure that you are physically fit and prepared for the physical demands of the hunt. Invest in appropriate hunting gear, including high-quality boots, clothing suitable for the weather conditions, a reliable rifle or bow, and camping equipment if planning for an extended hunting trip.

Mongolia is home to several mountain ranges, including the Altai Mountains in the west, the Khangai Mountains in the central region, and the Khentii Mountains in the east. These mountains feature steep slopes, rocky terrain, and rugged peaks, providing habitat for ibex and other wildlife.

The Mongolian steppe is a vast grassland region that covers much of the country. The terrain is generally flat or gently rolling, with grassy plains stretching as far as the eye can see. Steppes are ideal habitat for many of Mongolia's grazing animals, including ibex, gazelles, and wild horses.

The Gobi Desert in southern Mongolia is one of the most famous desert regions in the world. It features vast expanses of barren terrain, rocky outcrops, sand dunes, and sparse vegetation. Despite its harsh conditions, the Gobi Desert is home to unique wildlife species adapted to desert life, including the Gobi ibex.

Mongolia has several river systems, including the Orkhon, Selenge, and Tuul rivers. The valleys formed by these rivers provide fertile habitat for vegetation and serve as corridors for wildlife movement. River valleys often feature more lush and green landscapes compared to the surrounding areas.

Although forests cover only a small percentage of Mongolia's total land area, they are found primarily in the northern and western regions. Forested areas consist of taiga, or boreal forest, characterized by coniferous trees such as pine, larch, and cedar. These forests provide habitat for various wildlife species, including deer, elk, and bears.

Overall, the landscape is breathtaking, with vast expanses of rugged mountains, rolling hills, and open plains. Ibex hunting in Mongolia provides an opportunity to learn from local guides and experience traditional hunting methods firsthand. In addition to ibex, this outfitter also offers a diverse array of wildlife species that can be legally hunted, subject to regulations and permit requirements aligned with the timing of your hunt.

Some of the other animals that can be hunted are the following:

Argali Sheep: The Argali is the largest wild sheep species in the world and is highly prized by hunters for its impressive horns. Mongolia is home to several subspecies of Argali, including the Altai Argali and the Gobi Argali.

Maral Stag: The Maral, the Siberian Red Deer, also known as the "Asian Elk", is a large species of deer found in Mongolia's mountainous regions. Hunting Maral stags is a challenging and rewarding pursuit due to their impressive antlers and elusive nature.

Mongolian Gazelle: The Mongolian Gazelle is a small antelope species found in the grasslands and steppes of Mongolia. Gazelle hunting provides an opportunity for hunters to experience the thrill of stalking and pursuing fast-moving game across open terrain.

The Mongolian people are amazing! Mongolia has a rich nomadic culture deeply intertwined with hunting traditions. Engaging in ibex hunting in Mongolia provides an opportunity to immerse oneself in this cultural heritage, learning from local guides and experiencing traditional hunting methods firsthand. Respect for the land, wildlife, and local traditions is essential. It's suggested to show respect for the local culture, customs, and traditions of Mongolia. Be open-minded and receptive to learning from the local people you encounter during your hunting expedition.

The outfitter assists with planning your travel logistics in advance, including transportation to and within Mongolia, accommodations, and any necessary permits for bringing firearms into the country. Be prepared for remote and isolated conditions.
