DESCRIPTION:

ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter is known for elk, deer, and sheep across Arizona, with guides who specialize in specific units rather than working the whole state generically. That specialization is the core of it, and it has produced some of the largest animals taken in the state. Scouting starts well before any season and results in a trophy hit list built for each client, with photo updates sent out ahead of the hunt so a hunter knows what is on the ground before arriving. That level of preparation is also why statewide auction tag holders book with them for elk year after year. Nothing here is left to chance, and the attention to detail is the reputation.

HUNT DETAILS:
The guides here were born and raised in the heart of Arizona's top elk units, and each one specializes in a particular area rather than spreading across all of them. They scout relentlessly year round to find the best bulls in the state and build a strategy around individual animals. Clients get regular updates before the hunt, including video, trail camera photos, and range condition assessments, so nobody arrives without knowing what is out there. Aggressive scouting is what buys the advantage on day one, and that is where most elk hunts are won or lost. Archery hunters get the full range of tactics. When bulls are vocal, the hunting is chasing bugles and working in close. When they go quiet, the approach shifts to ambushing elk from blinds and tree stands set near water. Spot and stalk works well too, since much of Arizona's terrain lends itself to glassing. The result is that clients here consistently take more trophy bulls than the competition.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Lodging depends on the unit and on whether a hunter books fully outfitted or guide-only. Fully outfitted hunts run out of well-equipped camps with a full-time cook putting out hearty, home-cooked meals that will test a belt. Hot showers are available on request, and sleeping quarters are clean and private rather than a shared bunk tent. On certain hunts a nearby motel is an option for hunters who would rather sleep in town. Guide-only clients generally handle their own lodging and food. Whichever way a hunter goes, the intent is that the hours outside the field are restful rather than something to endure.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Most big-game hunts in Arizona require applying through a draw system, where hunters submit applications for permits. Hunters must also have a valid hunting license before applying. Huntin' Fool's License Application team will help you apply at the time of application.
