DESCRIPTION:

Days are long during June in Alaska and the bear rut is in full swing! Here is an opportunity to experience Alaska without the extreme logistics often associated with the backcountry. Based out of a lodge on the road system, hunters have all the comforts one would expect from a beautiful lodge while still being able to venture into the wilds and hunt bears. Not many places allow you to stay this comfortable, well fed and connected via WiFi and still expect to have a great hunt. The ability to drive to the lodge adds to the flexibility, with no concerns for weather delaying your travel plans. Five star living and good bear hunting is hard to beat!

Hunters should arrive in Anchorage and plan to spend the night. A member of the outfitter team will pick you up in the morning for the drive to the lodge. This ride should be enjoyed as you pass through Denali and top out in Cantwell. Alaska is really alive this time of year and, weather permitting, the drive should be very enjoyable. Like every trip with this outfitter, don't worry about the license and tag, both will be waiting on you at the lodge. Once settled in and well fed your hunt will begin.

Though not physically difficult, hunters will earn there bear with time invested. Sure, the action can happen fast, but you could also invest a significant amount of time waiting for the right bear to hit the bait. Whether rain or shine, it doesn't matter as hunters are out of the elements in ground blind placed within reasonable rifle distance from the bait. Low light periods are often the key to success so an overnight (it doesn't really get dark) hunt is often the best approach. As all of these hunts are conducted 1x1, the hunter and guide will be able to pass the time in good company.

Once your bear is harvested you have the choice to leave early or stay and schedule activities around the lodge. Explore, cast a line for grayling, heck you might even pan for some gold...

A bit on the bears- This region sits just south of the Alaska Range and the classification of bears varies by organization. GSCO and SCI classify the bears as Grizzly while B&C and P&Y classify them as Brown Bears.

This is a truly unique opportunity to enjoy an Alaska vacation combined with the pursuit of bears.
