Historically, harpoons were commonly used by Inuit hunters to hunt walruses. This method involves using a spear-like weapon with a barbed head attached to a long line. Hunters would approach walruses in kayaks or boats and launch the harpoon to pierce the animal's thick hide. Once harpooned, the walrus would be secured and dispatched.

Today, modern hunters use firearms to hunt Walrus. This method allows for more accurate and efficient harvesting of walruses from a distance. Inuit hunters may still utilize traditional tools such as the "tuq" (a throwing board) and "qayaq" (kayak) for hunting walruses.

These Walruses inhabit coastal areas or ice floes, and you will use boats or skiffs to approach the Walrus. This method allows hunters to navigate through icy waters and position themselves for a clear shot. During certain times of the year when Walruses haul out onto sea ice or ice floes, hunters may conduct ice-based hunting. This involves tracking Walruses from the ice and approaching them on foot or by using snowmobiles or dog sleds. Similar to hunting other game, hunters may employ a spot-and-stalk approach when hunting walruses. This method involves scouting for walruses from vantage points such as cliffs or hillsides and then stealthily approaching them on foot for a shot.

As stewards of the land, this outfitter recognizes the importance of responsible hunting practices and conservation efforts. By participating in sustainable harvests and respecting Walrus habitat, we all ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy the beauty and bounty of the Arctic wilderness.
