ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This is an HFA Endorsed Outfitter. This New Mexico outfitting business is built around honest service, strong preparation, and local knowledge of the areas they hunt. The operation focuses on providing quality guided experiences with guides who are familiar with the units and state they work in. They utilize preseason scouting, trail cameras, shed hunting, and time in the field to stay current on animal movement and conditions. Their approach is straightforward and hunt focused, with an emphasis on clear communication and helping hunters make the most of their opportunity. They specialize in sought-after New Mexico big game hunts and work to provide a well-prepared experience for clients pursuing free-ranging animals in challenging country.

HUNT DETAILS:
This is a guided off-range oryx hunt in southern New Mexico for free-ranging oryx. Hunts take place from June through March, giving hunters a chance to pursue this species across a wide seasonal window. The hunt is conducted spot-and-stalk in open sandy plains and desert country, with hunters glassing for animals, covering country by 4x4, and then making a stalk on foot once a shooter is found. This is a unique hunt because New Mexico is the only state offering free-ranging oryx, and the off-range option provides a better chance of drawing with fewer restrictions than on-range hunts. Hunters should be prepared for open-country shooting and long-distance opportunities, along with time spent covering large areas in search of quality animals.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
For this trip, lodging and meals are the hunter’s responsibility. This arrangement fits the hunt well because the hunting area can shift depending on where animals are located and where preseason scouting has been most productive. Hunters will typically stay in the nearest town to the active hunt area, and recommendations are provided before arrival to help with planning. Depending on location, lodging may include hotel, motel, or Airbnb-style options. This setup gives the hunt flexibility and helps keep clients positioned close to the best current hunting area rather than tied to one fixed camp or lodge location.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
This hunt is focused on New Mexico off-range oryx licenses. The hunt season for off-range tags runs from June through March, and hunters may select three different month preferences in their application. Off-range hunts generally offer a better chance of acquiring a tag than on-range hunts and come with fewer restrictions. Huntin' Fool has a license application department that can help you apply if you need assistance.
