ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This is an HFA Endorsed Outfitter. This outfitter is based in Magdalena, New Mexico, and specializes in guided elk hunts in trophy units across the state. The operation is built around deep local knowledge, experienced guides, and extensive preseason scouting. Their team spends significant time preparing for each season with trail cameras, scouting, glassing, and shed hunting in the units they operate. Guides are local to the area and know the terrain, elk movement, and seasonal patterns well. The focus is on honest communication, strong preparation, and giving hunters a quality experience in some of New Mexico’s best elk country. This outfitter specializes in southwestern New Mexico units known for producing mature bulls and offers guided opportunities across multiple weapon seasons.

HUNT DETAILS:
These guided elk hunts take place in southwest New Mexico in units that span the Cibola, Gila, and Lincoln National Forests, specifically units 13, 14, 15, all the 16s, 17, 18, and 23. Hunts run from September archery through October muzzleloader and rifle seasons. Archery hunts may include spot-and-stalk hunting, chasing bugling bulls, or sitting over a wallow or waterhole. Firearm hunts vary by season, from active bugle-chasing early in October to glassing canyon country and stalking bulls as they move toward winter range later in the season. These areas are known for consistently producing trophy caliber bulls, and elk tags are available through the lottery/draw system or by purchasing a landowner tag. This is a strong opportunity for hunters looking for a true New Mexico elk hunt in premier public-land units.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Elk hunts are lodge-based and include meals and accommodations. The main hunting lodge is in Magdalena, New Mexico, in Unit 17. It is a custom home built in 2019 with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and bunk house style sleeping arrangements. The outfitter uses this lodge for hunts in Units 13, 17, and 18. For hunts in other units, they use other accommodations depending on the hunt area.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Elk tags are obtained by the lottery/draw system or by purchase of a landowner tag. Landowner tags start at $10,000-$30,000 for archery/rifle and $8,000-$12,000 for muzzleloader. Huntin' Fools License Application team can also help with your applications if needed.
