ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-endorsed outfitter has been a registered outfitter in Alaska for many years. They hold permits to hunt multiple species across several areas of the state. In the Brooks Range, they hunt Dall sheep, grizzly bear, and caribou. On their Kodiak Island concession, they hunt brown bear, mountain goat, and Sitka blacktail deer. Few operations anywhere can offer that many species from multiple areas under one outfitting operation. The guides are experienced, and the focus is squarely on putting each hunter in a position to succeed rather than simply putting in the days. Whether you are traveling to Alaska for the first time or returning to pursue a specific animal, every hunter receives the same level of attention and effort throughout the hunt.

HUNT DESCRIPTION:
All of the hunt concessions on Kodiak have a history, and they all share a common theme: giant brown bears. With high success on bears in the 9-10 foot range Kodiak is a destination hunt for most hunters. The outfitter offers both spring and fall brown bear hunts, each providing a unique opportunity to pursue a mature Kodiak bear.

Spring hunts allow for longer hunting days, with bears constantly moving as they search for the best available food sources. During the spring, the focus is primarily along the beaches and newly greened-up areas where mature boars are often found feeding. Fall hunts are also an excellent option and are offered as a combination hunt with Sitka blacktail deer. Clients may also have the opportunity to add a mountain goat on a trophy-fee basis if permits are available.

On either hunt, the day typically begins by glassing from camp before taking a skiff to the area you will be hunting. A significant amount of time will be spent behind the glass, carefully picking apart the country in search of a mature bear. Clients need to be patient and prepared for long days in the field. With a skiff available to move hunters throughout the area, the outfitter has the flexibility to hunt different country as the hunt progresses. This allows the guide and hunter to adapt to bear movement, weather, and changing conditions throughout the hunt.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
This is a cabin-based hunt designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout your stay. There is a small cook cabin where you will enjoy all of your meals, prepared fresh by the camp cook. There are also two smaller cabins equipped with bunk beds and wood stoves for clients to stay in during the hunt, making camp extremely comfortable. The camp is also equipped with a shower house with hot water, allowing you to clean up and relax after a long day in the field.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
The required hunting license and tags for this hunt may be purchased online before your hunt or over the counter upon arrival at a license vendor. Important for non-residents: to hunt Dall sheep, mountain goat, or brown/grizzly bear, you must be accompanied by an Alaska-licensed guide. To be eligible, clients must have a signed UVC/Outfitter Contract with the registered outfitter.
