DESCRIPTION:

This hunt is a true wilderness hunting adventure! The multiple river systems provide boat travel and the wide range of lakes scattered throughout the area are accessed via floatplane. Each camp also has a string of calm, sure-footed horses. They are well-disciplined mountain animals providing an excellent means of transportation to access the nearby plateaus and mountain ranges. This specific area boasts one of the largest mountain caribou populations in British Columbia. There are two main herds of caribou that concentrates on two of the main plateau's that they focus on in their areas. Bulls harvested over the years have been, and continue to be some of the largest on record, with 10-20% scoring in the 390" range with some scoring 400+ inches. The average bull scores 375", and the best aspect is the superior quality of the bulls. Earlier hunts are located near numerous lakes, which are accessed by plane, and on these early hunts, the big bulls may also still be in velvet. Most hunts are on horseback to be capable of venturing to the vast plateaus where the caribou are rutting. Hunts occur in the heart of prime caribou country, and depending on the location, the accommodations consist of cabins and/or tent camps. The outfitter has been working with governments and first nations on population recovery initiatives, and they're starting to see some real positive results. This collaboration has been what continues to drive clients back to this outfitter for multiple repeat hunts. Clients are also capable of harvesting multiple species upon coordinating with HFA and/or the outfitter prior to the hunt. The HFA team has hunted with this outfitter several times and stands behind them as an HFA Endorsed Outfitter.

This outfitter has combined two of British Columbia’s premier guide territories to offer an opportunity that's unmatched with over 50 years in operation. With the hunting area being on both sides of a major world renowned river, it gives them pristine wilderness habitat that holds excellent game populations with both Pacific and Arctic watersheds that supports world class hunting and fishing. This family owned operation is actively involved in the family business and they all work in the organization in some capacity year round.
