ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-endorsed outfitter offers fully accommodated, home-style fair-chase hunts in the scenic Salmon River Country of Idaho. As a second-generation outfitter with extensive experience in this unique and rugged country, they provide hunters with the knowledge, preparation, and backcountry skill needed to pursue mountain lion, bighorn sheep, bear, deer, wolf, and bull elk in some of Idaho’s most breathtaking terrain. Based from a beautiful off-grid homestead near the famous River of No Return, hunts may utilize snowmobiles and four-wheel vehicles when conditions allow, giving guests access to remote and productive hunting areas. After a full day in the mountains, hunters return to a warm home-style cabin or wall tent with hot meals, heat, a shower, and comfortable lodging while enjoying the peace and solitude of a true wilderness setting. Guests need only bring personal gear, a sleeping bag, and any preferred snacks. Miles away from crowds and modern distractions, yet within reach of small Idaho towns, this outfitter provides an authentic, experienced, and memorable hunting adventure in one of the West’s most remarkable landscapes.
HUNT DETAILS:
Lion hunts are focused on traditional hound hunting, using well-trained dogs to track and tree lions in the rugged back country. Access to hunting areas is often by snowmobile, allowing guides and the hunters to cover miles quickly and reach remote areas where lions are active. Using a mix of proven methods, guides and their hounds work hard to locate and pursue lions across large areas of country, giving hunters the best chance for their hunt. After a full day in the field, guests return to comfortable accommodations with hot meals and a place to rest at the homestead. These hunts offer a great mix of strategy, mobility, and a classic back country experience in some of Idaho’s prime cat country.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
All hunts include meals and lodging, with accommodations varying depending on the hunt. Some hunters will be based out of the homestead, while others may stay in a heated wall tent camp. Breakfasts and dinners are hot meals prepared by the outfitter, and lunches are packed to be eaten in the field during the day’s hunt. Cots are provided for sleeping, and on occasion, when game is located in more remote areas, mountain tents may be used to stay closer to the hunting grounds. Wall tent camps are equipped with heat and a solar shower, while the homestead offers the comforts and amenities of a well-equipped cabin in the Idaho wilderness.
