ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter works central Wyoming and aims to put hunters on the best opportunities the region has to offer. The species list is broad for a single operation, covering elk, mule deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, mountain lion, and gray wolf, which speaks to how much country the guides know and how varied the hunting in this part of the state can be. The people running it are hunters first, and they treat a booked hunt as the start of a relationship rather than a transaction. The stated goal is to send hunters home with a strong impression of Wyoming and a reason to come back, and everything they do points that direction.

HUNT DETAILS:
This outfitter runs elk hunts for both rifle and archery hunters, and either can be based out of town or out of a remote backcountry camp. Rifle hunters working from town glass at first light from vantage points near roads, then pursue the bulls they turn up, a spot and stalk approach that covers a lot of country and lets hunters look over a good number of elk before committing. The backcountry option puts hunters away from other traffic and asks considerably more physically, but the payoff is elk that see less pressure. Archery hunters take advantage of bugling bulls, using cow calls and bugles to pull them in, mixed with spot and stalk and time spent in tree stands and ground blinds set on water and travel corridors. Guides run one or two hunters at a time. The track record is the strongest argument for the area, with a history of one hundred percent shot opportunity on six-point bulls in the three hundred class and a few bulls over three fifty taken each year.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Two setups are available. Hunters can stay in town, which keeps them close to services and ends the day at a local diner over a meal, or they can go into a remote backcountry camp. The backcountry camps use comfortable wall tents, giving hunters the full experience of sleeping out in elk country. Meals and water are supplied by the outfitter while hunters are in the field, and plenty of both go along each day, carried in a cooler or packed with the hunting gear when long days are expected.
