ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter has been guiding in Alaska for several years, working prime country in the Wrangell Mountains and the Copper River region. That part of the state carries an unusual concentration of species, and the hunts offered reflect it, covering brown bear, black bear, mountain goat, moose, and Dall sheep. Few operations anywhere can put that many animals on one list from one base of operations. The guides are experienced and the focus is squarely on getting each hunter into a position to succeed rather than simply putting in the days. Hunters coming to Alaska for the first time and those returning for a specific animal are handled with the same attention.

HUNT DETAILS:
The Wrangell Mountains hold some of the largest Dall sheep in Alaska, and numerous record-book rams have come off this concession specifically. Genetics in this range are exceptional, but genetics alone do not make a giant ram. Age does. A ram has to live long enough to build the mass, length, and character that separate a good ram from a great one, and that only happens where rams are left alone. This concession is managed with exactly that in mind. Age structure and long-term sustainability drive the decisions, and only a very limited number of hunters go out each year, which keeps pressure extremely low. Hunters fly into camp four to five days ahead of hunting to get established, scout the country, and locate rams before the hunt begins. From there hunters get ten full days in one of the most historic and proven Dall sheep areas in North America.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
This is mountain tent camping, and the setup makes no pretense of being anything more. Camps are set up to be dry and efficient, which in this country matters more than anything decorative, and the essentials are covered without carrying weight that serves no purpose. Meals combine freeze-dried food with a limited amount of fresh food delivered at the start of the hunt, which gives hunters a few real meals early on. The camps are planned around the ground being hunted rather than dropped in place, and the intent is to keep hunters warm, fed, and rested enough to hunt hard each day.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Over-the-counter harvest tickets are also available for most areas. Your license and tags can be purchased online through the ADFG website at least a month in advance.
