DESCRIPTION:

This outfitter is a family-operated operation and their focus is in providing quality opportunities in the areas that they have worked for nearly half a century to secure. Members of the family have guided all over North America, including the far north in Alaska. The owner is also a pilot and has been flying since he was 18 years old. This has proven to open many doors, making every experience unique in multiple ways.

These hunts are done in the forest areas, along with some farmland areas. Most of the hunting takes place in the forests from elevated, heated blinds. The forested areas can stretch for tens of miles without any break. They typically hunt the forest and natural open areas, and their guides guides spend a lot of time scouting each year.

These hunts are for fair chase whitetail deer with no fences and no baiting. The hunts take place in the wild Canadian bush, with great populations of whitetail deer and excellent age class. On average, clients can expect to see deer in the 150” to 160” range. Each year, between 10%-20% of the deer harvested scores over 170”, and in their best years, they’ve seen upwards of 30% go over the 170” mark. This area consistently produces mature deer with good mass, and the trophy gallery speaks for itself.

The weather can vary drastically based on the time of year, and by late November, average highs can be around freezing and lows in the teens or single digits. However, hunting takes place in heated blinds as mentioned before, so your exposure to the outside temperature will be very limited. Their stands are custom built, and they're very tough and won't break under heavy loads. The blinds are enclosed with a heavy canvas cover over a conduit pipe frame.  The enclosures have Velcro fasteners on the door and window flaps. A seat is installed on each platform, so you can remain seated and rotate to view.  The window "frame" makes an excellent rifle rest and there is plenty of room to position your rifle. Average shot distances from the blinds vary and hunters can plan on shooting from 100 yards and up.

In addition to deer, the area is also has other wildlife such as bears, moose, elk and wolves. On these whitetail hunts, you may have an opportunity at a wolf. Many hunters each year see wolves, and on average, about 20% of the hunters have the opportunity to harvest one.

From the food, lodging, and hunting, to the wildlife and scenery, this whitetail hunting adventure is one of those that aren’t around every corner. They run a solid business and have excellent organizational strengths that benefits the clients hunting with them. The food is excellent, and the accommodations are clean and comfortable. After so many years doing what they do, their experience is simply irreplaceable. The knowledge and boots on the ground in their area has proven great results that definitely above average.
