“I’m what you might call a boot nut. I wear boots to do almost everything, except maybe play basketball on a rare occasion. I’m always looking for that perfect hunting boot, so when the opportunity to try the Zamberlan Wasatch GTX RR came up, I was excited to try them. To be honest the first couple days I wore them, I was not really impressed, but by the third day as they began to break into my feet, my mind began to change. I decided to wear them scouting that weekend with just four days of breaking them in. Covering over 15 miles that weekend scouting mule deer in some fairly rugged country convinced me these were the real deal. I had band-aids and mole skin ready to go but never had to touch them. The comfort and support they provided that weekend really impressed me.

I believe we are all looking for the same thing out of our hunting boots, number one being comfort. The Wasatch 981 GTX RR check that box. With minimal break-in time, the boot is extremely comfortable in all terrains. I love the support of this boot in the steep and uneven country. With its 11" height, it protects the lower leg in those brushy and thorny areas. I can’t wait to try them in Mexico later this year. This is a tough and rugged hunting boot that would take a lot of miles and abuse without breaking down in one season. The only downside to the Wasatch 981 GTX RR is it might be a little heavy for some hunters, weighing just under four pounds per pair.
