Northwest Kansas Turkey Hunt

DESCRIPTION:

This adventure is a 3 day hunt for Rio Grande turkeys in the rich farm grounds of northwest Kansas. This outfitter has access to thousands of acres of farm land that boasts large amounts of Rio Grande turkeys. With a 100 percent success rate ,the outfitter prides themselves on knowing what stages the birds are in during the breeding season and knowing how to hunt and call to them. This hunt includes lodging and meals.

NOTE: Kansas has gone to draw system for turkey tags, but this outfitter has a 100 percent success rate.

GETTING THERE
Clients who fly have two options of airports. Clients can fly into either Hays Regional Airport (HYS) Hays Kansas rent a car and drive an hour to Phillipsburg Kansas or fly into Lincoln Nebraska International Airport (LNK) rent a car and drive 3 hours to Phillipsburg.

MEALS
Meals are catered in by the owner of the local bakery. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks/beverages are all provided.

LODGING
Clients will stay at one of two homes in town. One home is a 4 bedroom (sleeps 8) with 2 bath. Second home is a 2 bedroom (sleeps 4) with 1 bath. Both homes are fully furnished with WiFi.

DIRECTIONS ON APPLYING

The Kansas application period for spring turkey is now active. Hunters have from 1/9/2024 to 2/9/2024 to apply for the spring turkey permit. Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to apply and which units to apply for.

Existing Kansas customers: log into your account and update your information so it is all current.

New Kansas customers: click on the “enroll now” button towards the lower left corner of your screen and create a new account.

Once existing & new customers are logged into their account and all information is updated and current, click on the “limited draw applications” tab towards the upper right corner of your screen within your account profile.

After you’ve clicked on that tab, it’ll pull up a dialogue box asking you to choose between “Nonresident Spring Turkey” or “Spring Turkey Unit 4 Resident/NR Tenant Spring Turkey Draw”. Please click on the “Nonresident Spring Turkey” tab and click next.

Your next box gives you 4 options.

1. Apply as an individual

2. Create a group

3. Join a group

4. Apply for points only.

We recommend everyone applying as an individual as your odds of drawing will be higher even in a group setting, but if it’s an all or nothing group where everyone wants to be together no matter what, then apply as a group. When applying as a group, the 1st group member will click on #2. Create a group and at the end of his application will be given a group number to pass onto the other members of the group. The other members once logged on an applying will click #3. Join a group and enter that group number into the site and be linked up with the group creator and other members of the group application.

If you have a hunt booked 2-3 years in advance with us, you will want to click option #4 and apply for points only. You cannot apply for the permit and buy points in the same year; you must do one or the other.

Your next page if applying will ask your unit choices:

Enter Unit 1 as your 1st hunt choice and Unit 2 as your 2nd hunt choice then click next.

Enter your card payment information next and MAKE SURE YOUR CARD DOES NOT EXPIRE BY THE TIME OF THE ACTUAL DRAW. The State of Kansas will charge your card once awarded the permit and if your card fails to process you will not be successful in drawing. SO, MAKE SURE CARD PAYMENT IS ALL CURRENT!

Once you’ve entered your card payment information into the system, go ahead and click next and process your payment.

Your next step will be to choose the permit delivery preference. We recommend the E Tag option and download the Go Outdoors Kansas mobile app, log into your account on there, then be able to access and cancel your permit once successful on your phone. Very slick process.

Lastly it will bring you to the review page. Review the information you’ve submitted then click the “FINISH & CHECKOUT” button in the lower right corner.

This has concluded your turkey application. Kansas will contact you with your results.
