The tags are acquired over-the-counter for all species included with this hunt. Additional species include Black Bear, Wolf, and Wolverine. Caribou can also be hunted, but a tag must be drawn first. The application period begins in November each year to apply.

This opportunity is located in a remote wilderness area, offering hunters a true backcountry experience. The vast expanses of untouched wilderness provide above average opportunities for trophy class animals. The terrain is varied, ranging from dense forests to alpine tundra and steep mountains. The area is known for its high success rates for hunters. The abundance of game combined with proper planning and skillful hunting techniques increases the likelihood of a successful hunt, and this outfitter has that nailed down for their DIY clients. All of the moose are essentially holding up between the river and above tree line. It’s a strip of forest that can be hunted from the top or bottom. The outfitter will drop you off strategically based off of what they found during the pre-season, combined with trail evaluations and pre-season sightings. So you will find yourself above tree-line, down lower along the rivers edge, or overlooking mountain lakes. Calling is the best thing do, and as little movement as possible to control spreading your scent around too much is key.

This area is known for offering excellent quality moose, and it is considered one of the prime areas in the state. Moose densities in this area can be significant, and he habitat is well-suited for moose, consisting of dense forests, marshes, and open areas, which provide ample food and cover for these animals. Moose are often found near lakes, rivers and streams, particularly during the rutting season. The outfitter employs various hunting methods to pursue moose, including spot-and-stalk, calling, and still-hunting. The diverse terrain allows hunters to adapt their tactics based on the conditions and preferences. It boasts a rich diversity of game species, including moose, caribou, dall sheep, grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, and wolverines. This abundance of wildlife provides hunters with ample opportunities to pursue different species.
