DESCRIPTION:

The Alaska Peninsula offers some of the finest coastal brown bear hunting in the world. This outfitter been hunting on the Alaska Peninsula since 1998 and has acquired a sole use guiding area, from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. They are allowed to conduct 4 Brown Bear hunts per year. The brown bear population is abundant in this area and they believe its one of the best bear hunting areas in the state. They hunt on the Pacific side of the Peninsula, 30 miles from Kodiak Island, across the Shelikof Straight. The terrain is varied from beaches and river valleys to ridge top hunting sites.

They try to make their guide business as successful as possible. This includes the best guides, gear and best places to hunt. Hunting in the USFWS Becharof National Wildlife Refuge will give you the best chances for success on your hunt. The advantage being, this is a sole use guiding area, so you will not be overrun by other guides and outfitters. You are reassured that you are hunting with a guide business that has underwent a difficult review of it’s capabilities and practices by the Wildlife Refuge Board. You are hunting in a protected wilderness area, as such your grandchildren will enjoy the same undeveloped view that you enjoy on your hunt. We fully-support Leave No Trace hunting for that reason.

Your hunt starts in King Salmon, Alaska and you can fly there with Alaska Airlines. They will pick you up at the airport and transport you to the hunting area via wheeled and float equipped bush planes. Tent camps are placed on the beach based on quality of landing area and proximity of look-out. They strive to see as much terrain as possible. Bears range from 8ft to 10ft based on previous hunts, most bears taken being 9ft or better. Bear stalks are from 1/2 mile to 3 miles and possibly require gaining elevation quickly. Clients must be realistic about their physical abilities, as that will affect their success. Spring hunts are typically more physical than fall hunts. Fall hunts are conducted over looking one of the many salmon streams in the area and suggests for any with physical limitations. We will transport your trophy to King Salmon. From there you can ship it to your Alaska expeditor of choice.

The Alaska Peninsula has alternating seasons, spring of even numbered years and fall of odd numbered years. We run four 10-day hunts in the spring, and four 10-day hunts in the Fall.
