This "American-Based" outfitter company has partnered with Huntin' Fool to bring hunting and traveling in Asia to an entirely new level and experience. They deliver only the highest quality big game hunts, primarily throughout Mid Asia, and a select few distinguished locations. This is one of the many reasons we at Huntin' Fool have chosen to work with them. They conduct their planning and organization with precision and excessive consideration for contingencies. Their lodges and concessions are primarily exclusive, offering our clients the assurance that they are in complete control of the quality of the hunt experience, as well as finances. Every season they strive to improve their offerings, never settling for “good enough”, so each year the opportunities increase, as does the customer service and experience.

This outfitter is all about people, operations and quality. They understand that clients expect an experience reflective of their investment in the expeditions they plan and purchase. With this comes the expectation of receiving clear communication, transparency, and memories that bring a smile to their faces for years to come. Their goal with each client is to exceed expectations by way of providing world-class opportunities! Repeat clients have become the norm! This is due to the unique offerings by this outfitter that provide a highly personalized experience, while maintaining an emphasis on continuous improvement. While many consider a satisfied hunter to be the single metric for success, they hold the belief that mastery is a process, and that they can always make the next hunt even better than the last.

For all of these reasons, Huntin' Fool Adventures has confidently chosen to work with this outfitter to provide comfortable, safe, enjoyable experiences in Asia! From the time of booking, to the return trip home, our collective goal is that each client chalks up a positive memory of a lifetime!

THE HUNT:
This legendary trophy animal, the Marco Polo Argali, is one of the largest wild sheep species in the world. It is an animal sought after by hunters worldwide. Harvesting a Marco Polo Argali with its majestic, spiraling horns is considered a crowning achievement for many hunters, making it a highly coveted hunting opportunity, and this Tajikistan opportunity is one of the best there is. The average ram taken on this hunt will be in the 55-inch range, with a realistic possibility of getting a crack at a ram in the 60" or better range.

Hunters going to Tajikistan want to make sure they are in good physical condition for hiking steep hills and mountains at altitudes between 14,000-16,000 feet. The lodge is at 12,000 feet. The hunt is conducted by spot and stalk. They do not shoot from a vehicle. They will sometimes spike camp during September and October when high quality rams are spotted and the best chances are first thing in the morning. Hunters are responsible for bringing their own water filter, personal camp stove and meals for spike camp. Personal range finder, spotting scope and binoculars are also recommended.

Their guides have their own spotting scopes, binoculars and range finders. Every hunt is pre-scouted by our most experienced guides. Shots on Marco Polo are typically taken between 300-600 yards. Hunters are encouraged to bring a long-range rifle that is capable of making accurate shots to at least 600 yards.

Fall hunts take place starting in September and go through the end of December time-frame. The winter or late hunts take place early January and run through February. If for any reason you stay for the entire duration of the hunt and do not have an opportunity at a good representative animal, you can go back during the same hunting season for a nominal amount. The outfitter speaks English and also hires the same 4 local guides (2 per hunter) for all the hunters.

On this hunt you will experience their brand-new lodge located on the Pamir River situated in the historic Wakhan Corridor. They are the exclusive outfitter in this region, and you will utilize their local guide teams that have hunted sheep and ibex in these mountains for several decades. Conservation of the wildlife, hunter experience and trophy quality are at the forefront of every planning detail for their sheep and ibex hunts.

Their lodge is equipped with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full kitchen, cold recovery bath, sauna, rock fireplace and heated floors throughout. Hunters enjoy meals prepared by our full-time chef including assorted drinks and snacks for the hunt and Marco Polo dishes after a successful harvest. And let's not forget about food—the heart and soul of any culture. Tajik cuisine is a delicious fusion of flavors, from hearty meat dishes to fragrant rice pilafs. Sharing a meal isn't just about satisfying hunger; it's about coming together, sharing stories, and nourishing the soul.

Hunters will need to obtain a US tourist visa for travel to Tajikistan at least 30 days prior to departure for your hunt. Hunters must pay for their visa with a credit card in their own name per laws of Tajikistan. An Arcqos Vakhan staff member will ensure all visas and permits are in place prior to departure. Any firearms will need to be accounted for with your airline and attached to your itinerary in the system of the airline you are traveling with. We strongly recommend booking through Travel With Guns on Turkish Airlines. Hunters may bring up to 100 rounds of ammunition. Arrival in Dushanbe

An Arcqos Vakhan team member will meet you at the airport when you arrive in Dushanbe to assist you with customs clearance and firearms declaration. Hunters carrying firearms into Tajikistan must have ammunition stored in a locked container separate from the rifle case. Once you arrive in Dushanbe and clear customs and rifle declaration, you will immediately begin the drive to Khorog in a very comfortable SUV. Stops will be made for meals and refreshments over the course of the 12-hour drive to the Khorog. After your 1-night stay in Khorog, you will make the 6- hour drive to our hunting camp in the Wakhan Valley. The day you arrive in camp will be spent familiarizing yourself with the hunting area, meeting your guide team, preparing gear and acclimating to the high altitude.

When it comes to the people, culture and safety, Imagine stepping into Tajikistan and being greeted by the warm smiles and open arms of its people. Hospitality isn't just a custom there—it's a way of life. Whether you're a stranger passing through or a guest in someone's home, expect to be treated like family.

In Tajikistan, family isn't just about blood relations; it's about a tight-knit community where everyone looks out for each other. Neighbors aren't just faces you pass by—they're friends who offer a helping hand and share in life's joys and sorrows. And speaking of joys, Tajikistan is bursting with cultural richness. From the vibrant melodies of traditional music to the intricate designs of handmade crafts, creativity thrives here. Literature, poetry, and storytelling are woven into the fabric of everyday life, reminding you of the power of words and the beauty of shared stories.

Religion also plays a significant role. Mosques echo with the calls to prayer, and faith is a guiding light for many. Yet, amidst diverse beliefs, there's a shared sense of respect and acceptance that bridges differences and fosters unity.

So, when you think of Tajikistan, think of its people—warm, welcoming, and full of life. In their laughter, their stories, and their kindness, you'll find the true heart of this beautiful country with amazing hunting opportunities that you can't find anywhere else.
