ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter specializes in quality fair-chase hunts in some of southwest Montana's best units, with elk and antelope both on offer and archery and rifle options available. The guide staff brings more than fifteen years of hunting experience across the mountains and plains of the region, which is the kind of familiarity that separates a productive week from a frustrating one. That range is worth noting. The same operation works high timbered elk country and open pronghorn ground, and the guides know both. Hunters at any level are accommodated, and the emphasis stays on fair chase and on a small number of hunters at a time rather than volume.

HUNT DETAILS:
Pronghorn is one of the more accessible big game hunts this outfitter offers, and it makes an excellent first western hunt for someone who has never done one. Success rates approach one hundred percent year after year, which takes a lot of the uncertainty out of a first trip. The country varies more than most hunters expect from an antelope hunt, running from dry rolling grasslands and creek bottoms into rough, steep canyons with scattered timber. The ranches differ from one another considerably in size, terrain, habitat, and how easily they can be accessed. That diversity is the real advantage here, because it lets the outfitter place each hunter on the property that fits their ability and the way they prefer to hunt rather than assigning everyone to the same ground. Buck quality and hunting style vary by ranch, so it is worth telling the outfitter what you are after when booking.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
This hunt is based out of a lodge, so hunters get a real bed and a roof rather than a tent camp. A cook is on staff and handles breakfast and dinner every day, working from a menu built specifically for hunting season rather than whatever is easy. Lunch is put together each morning to take into the field, with a wide assortment to choose from including lunch meats, fruits, vegetables, homemade cookies, and snacks. Nobody goes hungry on this hunt. Having the food and lodging handled means hunters can spend the day covering country instead of worrying about where the next meal comes from.
