ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-Endorsed Outfitter runs fair-chase archery elk hunts in the prime elk units of southwest Montana. The guide staff brings more than fifteen years of hunting experience in this specific region, which is the kind of familiarity that separates a productive week from a frustrating one. Elk are the focus, and the operation does not spread itself thin across a long species list. Beyond the guiding, the team has a real attachment to this country and to the animals in it, and they enjoy passing along what they know as much as putting a hunter in position. Hunters who value fair chase, want an archery hunt, and appreciate guides invested in the place they work will fit well here.
HUNT DETAILS:
These are archery elk hunts on public land in southwest Montana, and the outfitter is upfront about what that means. The country holds a stable elk population with real numbers and a healthy bull to cow ratio, which is the foundation everything else rests on. Bulls range from rag-horns up to three hundred twenty and better, with most harvested bulls falling in the two hundred fifty to three hundred class. Hunts are based out of a drive-in wall tent camp or a house, which keeps the operation mobile and lets guides cover a lot of ground and shift as conditions change. That flexibility matters on public land, where weather, other hunters, and factors nobody controls all shape how a week goes. Learning to work with that is part of becoming a capable public land elk hunter. Camp holds a limited number of hunters each week so the guiding stays focused. Hunters should come in shape and ready to hunt hard.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunters are based out of either a drive-in wall tent camp or a house, depending on the hunt. A cook is on staff and handles breakfast and dinner every day, working from a menu built specifically for hunting season rather than whatever is easy. Lunch is put together each morning to take into the field, with a wide assortment to choose from including lunch meats, fruits, vegetables, homemade cookies, and various snacks. Nobody goes hungry on this hunt, and nobody comes home lighter than they left. Having the food handled properly matters more than hunters expect over the course of a hard week.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
