It's an opportunity to test your skills as a hunter while immersing yourself in the stunning wilderness of the region If you’re looking for a quality adventure in one of the finest areas of British Columbia, this is one that you definitely need to consider.

This area of BC has some of the best black bear habitat it has to offer. The network of logging cut-blocks, aspen slopes, and rich farmland, makes this region a bear paradise! They have one of the highest bear densities in North America, and what makes it even better is that many of the bears they take measure well over 7 feet, with an average around 6’6”.

Spring hunts are spot and stalk style, staying in well appointed cabins near fish filled lakes. It's not uncommon to see 10-12 bears an evening while on one of their trips. The hunt is great for rifle, archery or muzzle-loader.

Black bears are abundant in this part of Canada, providing ample opportunities for hunters to pursue them. In the spring, black bears are emerging from hibernation and are actively searching for food to replenish their energy stores. This makes them more accessible to hunters as they roam the forests and mountainsides in search of vegetation, berries, and carrion. Spring in Northwestern British Columbia brings lush vegetation as the forests come alive after the winter months. This can make spotting bears a bit more challenging due to the dense foliage, but it also provides ample opportunities for bears to feed, making certain areas prime hunting grounds.

One common method for spring bear hunting is spot-and-stalk. Hunters will often spend time glassing hillsides, clearings, and feeding areas in search of bears. Once a bear is spotted, hunters will plan their approach, using the terrain to their advantage to get within shooting range.

Another technique used during spring bear hunting is calling. Hunters mimic the sounds of distressed animals, such as young bears or wounded prey, to attract bears within range. This method can be particularly effective early in the spring when bears are hungry and more responsive to calls.

Spring weather in Northwestern British Columbia can be variable, ranging from cold and wet to warm and sunny. Hunters should be prepared for changing conditions and dress accordingly to stay comfortable during long hours in the field..

After a successful trip, clients enjoy self-guided fishing and day tours of the local area. This is a great trip for families, work groups and clients from around the world.
