This family owned and operated outfitter has been around since the 70's. They offer fully guided and outfitted Moose, Grizzly Bear, and Caribou hunts. This particular profile outlines their trophy moose hunts, which can also be coupled with trophy caribou and grizzly bear. Moose and grizzly bear tags are acquired through the Alaska state draw tag system. Caribou, wolf, and wolverine tags can be purchased over the counter.
These moose hunts are 7-day hunts with a day of travel on the front and back end of the actual hunt days. If you would like to add on caribou you would need to plan on the last week in August to hunt caribou & the start of moose hunting on September 1st. This area is home to some of the largest moose in the world, and hunters in the this area have the chance to pursue trophy-sized bulls with impressive antler spreads. The genetics of Alaskan moose in this area often produce large-bodied animals with massive antlers, with the average bull being around 60” wide, and the minimum width is 50” or 4 brow tines on one side. The outfitter uses a variety of hunting methods, including spot-and-stalk, calling, and still hunting. Accommodation can range depending on location of hunter and moose. It can be anywhere from staying at base camp with cabins, to a spike camp with a cabin and large arctic oven tents with cots, to spike out with pup tents if the need arises to be extremely mobile.
