AUGUST HUNTS:
For the August vessel-based hunts, clients will overnight in Winnipeg the night before and then take a domestic flight the following day. All flights for the village depart from Winnipeg in the morning. Returning flights from the village to Winnipeg depart in the afternoon and arrive in Winnipeg in the evening. Upon arrival in the village, the hunter will be picked up at the airport by the outfitter. They will drive the hunter to the hotel for an overnight stay (Approximately $300 per night per person). During the evening, the hunter will buy his hunting license, and discuss last minute details.

The morning after, the hunter and his guides will travel 40 to 60 km by boat towards designated island where both walrus and polar bear are present. While traveling they will glass the island for good trophies and once a trophy is spotted the hunter and guide will go to shore within a reasonable distance from the animal and begin the stalk. It is possible that both species are close to each other but also possible that they are not. The hunter will stay in a cabin or tent camp all depending where the animals are located. The hunt is 10 days.

Meals consist of commercially prepared soups, commercial meats (sometimes wild meat and char is possible), snacks (chocolate bars, etc). If hunter has personal preferences such as nuts and dry fruits, he should bring along with him. Water, coffee, tea and powder juices are supplied. In the Arctic not all food is available. No liquor allowed.

For the Fall and Spring hunts, all flights for the village depart from Ottawa or Winnipeg depending of the village where the hunt will take place. The flights leave in the morning and arrive in the village late afternoon. Upon arrival in the village, the hunter will be picked up at the airport by the guide. They will drive the hunter to the hotel for an overnight stay. During the evening, you will buy your license, and discuss last minute details.

The morning after, the hunter and his guides will leave town for a 10 days hunt with (ATV) all terrain vehicle or snowmobiles. The area in which the hunter will be hunting may vary between 10 to 100 miles away from the town. It should take about 8 hours to reach destination. During the traveling, if they come across a fresh large track, the hunter and the team may decide to follow it. There will be frequent stops for hot tea and snacks. Along the way, depending on the situation, the guides will decide to stay overnight in a wooden camp (5 x 5 meters) and prepare hot meals; or to settle a tent camp.

From the morning after, the hunter will be glassing for bear. When a bear is spotted, the hunter and guide/dog team will stalk/approach bear on foot.
