ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA endorsed outfitter is a family-run British Columbia outfitting operation guiding on the eastern slope of the Rockies since 2003. The business began operating Folding Mountain in 2013 and later added the Stone Mountain area, combining two established northern BC guide territories. Hunts originate from the Toad River lodge in the middle of the concession, with horses raised for the operation and year-round predator management supporting the area. The territory includes both summer and winter range, so game remains in the country throughout the year rather than migrating out. The focus is on quality mountain hunting in country the team knows intimately through all seasons.
HUNT DETAILS:
This is a 1-on-1 Stone Sheep hunt in northern British Columbia that runs 14 days from August to October. The hunting territory spans the eastern slope of the Rockies and includes the Chisca, Tetsa, Snake, Macdonald, Wokpash, Racing, Toad, and Sulphur drainages. Hunters reach sheep country by horseback, backpacking, or by flying to the final hunting destination, and sheep hunters should expect to spike out unless otherwise discussed. The area holds both summer and winter range, benefits from strong winter habitat, and is supported by intensive predator management allowing wildlife to thrive. On any sheep hunt clients should be prepared to hike challenging terrain, steep mountains, and deal with rabid weather changes, making this trip a true once in a lifetime experience you'll never forget. Rams are targeted at 8.5 years or older, and younger rams are passed regardless of size. Even though you'll be in a mountain tent for the duration of the hunt, the guides make sure to provide a top quality experience in some of the richest sheep habitat in British Columbia.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Stone Sheep hunters should expect to be in a remote spike camp accessed by horses, hiking or flying. Spike camps can vary from dome tents to single person mountain tents depending on the season and location. These camps can include a collapsible stove for later season hunts. Meals in spike camps are a mix of cooked food, freeze dried meals and snacks. The outfitter ensures all clients are as comfortable as possible, and provides adequate and well equipped tents to protect from the varying weather conditions, and temperatures.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses are guaranteed for all game with no draw necessary. The outfitter will purchase the license and tags on clients behalf.
