West Texas is the location of this free-range Texas Aoudad hunt. Texas offers some great opportunities and this specific hunt is on private, low-fence land consisting of 30,000+ acres or prime habitat for the Aoudad to live and flourish. The ranch is located South of the town of Marfa in the famous Chinati Mountains. Hunters will be staying on the ranch at what was once a cow camp from where the ranch was once worked by the ranch cowboys. Lodging is not fancy, but is clean and dry with a hot shower and flushable toilets, and power will be provided by a generator. The generator is turned off in the evening making for a very quiet camp. Included with your hunt are meals, lodging, and guides.
A one on one hunt can be put together for an extra fee. Your hunt will be four full hunting days. You will be able to take One Aoudad ram, one javelina, varmints, and feral hogs. Being that Aoudad can be hunted year around, this lends itself the opportunity to combination hunts. Aoudad can be combined with whitetail, mule deer and antelope during certain times of the year as well. When combining with any of these three the $315.00 dollar license is required. As for size of rams taken, every effort is made to not take rams smaller than 27 inches, and most rams taken are from 28 ½ to 30 ½. Hunter success is high with most years having 100% success.
With no draw necessary for these hunts, and your license can be purchased over the counter, last-minute hunts can be put together very easily. All hunts include accommodations, meals, and professional guide/outfitter services. This outfitter has been outfitting since 1984, is a member of Safari Club International, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and a former South-East Director of the New Mexico Council of Outfitters and Guides
