DESCRIPTION:

As one of Southern Africa’s premier hunting operations, this family run operation has been guiding in Africa since 1999, and they’ve been in full operation as an outfitter since 2004. They are based in the Limpopo Province of South Africa and have other licensed companies and partnerships in several different countries across the continent, including the Eastern Cape, the Free State / Northern Cape, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zambia. All of their hunting is fair chase, ethical, and will provide you with incredible opportunities to take world class trophies that you can be proud of. They offer all plains game hunting and safari opportunities, and are also a Dangerous Game licensed professional hunter.

Free State and Northern Cape offer a range of game species for hunters to pursue, from small antelope to large and dangerous game. Hunters can tailor their hunting experience to their preferences and skill level, with a range of terrain and hunting opportunities to choose from. Hunting can involve a range of styles depending on the game being hunted and the specific hunting operation. Hunters may use vehicles, stalk on foot, or hunt from blinds. This outfitter provides experienced and knowledgeable guides who can help hunters locate and track animals, ensuring a successful hunting experience. The guides also know the terrain and local wildlife, which can be an advantage for hunters who are unfamiliar with the area or who are pursuing species that are difficult to hunt. The lodging is dialed in, with no complaints to date, and you will eat well no matter where you are.

Free State and Northern Cape are located in the central region of South Africa and are easily accessible by road or air. This can be an advantage for hunters who want to minimize the time and cost of travel, as well as avoid any potential hassles or complications that may arise from travel to more remote locations. It is home to several indigenous communities who offer cultural experiences and guided tours of their traditional lands. These tours can include visits to rock art sites, traditional villages, and nature reserves, as well as opportunities to learn about the San's history, culture, and way of life. This can be an added dimension to a hunting trip, providing hunters with a chance to immerse themselves in the local culture and gain a deeper understanding of the region.

Almost all of your shots will come from shooting sticks so it is paramount that you familiarize yourself with sticks and practice over and over from them. Accurate shooting from sticks can be one of the most important parts of your safari. Practicing quick acquisition on sticks, and then making the shot from sticks is perhaps the most important preparation you could do when getting ready for your rifle hunt. Caliber and bullet selection are also an extremely important decision in your safari preparation. It’s best to speak to one of the outfitter's staff regarding the caliber and bullet you are planning to use as the team will guide you in the right direction depending on area and species being hunted.

In most areas hunting starts from a vehicle traversing roads looking for tracks, sign, or maybe even seeing the animals running off in the distance. From there the Hunter, PH, and tracker(s) will hunt on foot. Some stalks can go for miles while others only a few hundred yards. Good lightweight hunting boots with soft silent soles and quiet leather ankle gaiters are a requirement in the African Bush. No matter where you’re hunting in Africa one thing that remains constant is that African game is extremely tough. There have been endless debates as to the reason, but the most accepted seems to be the incredible amounts of predators across Africa and the tremendous natural selection that has taken place on the Dark Continent. Years of hunting these areas have equipped all of their staff with the knowledge and understanding to guide you through your first, second, or tenth African safari. No matter which country, or region, you are hunting with their team will help guide you through all aspects of your safari from travel, clothing, equipment, & whatever else may arise before, during or after your safari.

Equipment is very specific for areas and specie(s) being hunted. The best option is to speak directly with the outfitter before arriving, and they can set you up with the exact equipment to match your safari to what you want. Using the equipment they have tested can be the difference between a great hunt or a frustrating one. *In the other countries that they operate in, most hunting is done by walk and stalk, ambush, and/or temporary brush blinds. The hunting is challenging but extremely rewarding. Most of these areas are more suited for clients that have a safari or two under the belt and are moving on to the more challenging and unique African species. These are all custom safaris tailor made for your unique needs.
