DESCRIPTION:

These trophy Dall sheep hunts take place in the central Brooks Range where this outfitter has been hunting in for over 20 years. It is located 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle and this remote, extensive tent camp, with a spacious dining tent and comfortable sleeping tents, is situated on a high, pristine mountain lake. With the majestic Brooks Range before you, this is an incredibly challenging and rewarding hunt. The Brooks Range offers tremendous opportunities for trophy Dall Sheep and the chances of encountering other hunting parties are low, unlike many other areas within the state.

This is a traditional backpacking, spike-camp style Dall sheep hunt and requires a hunter to be in very good physical condition. This outfitter has consistently had great success in this camp/area over the years. You’ll enjoy some of the most dynamic and beautiful wilderness in the world in their two exclusive use guide areas within National Wildlife Refuges. The elusive Dall Sheep is considered by many to be one of the ultimate big game trophies in North America. You’ll typically hunt out of base camp for four or five days then, if necessary, backpack to spike camps that are approximately a six hour hike from the base camp, though much of the time this is not necessary. Fortunately, by landing on this high mountain lake, which is where base camp is located, you are already in the sheep country and trophy rams are often spotted from camp and many fine trophies have been harvested within one and a half miles of Base Camp. As this tends to be a very physical hunt, you should be prepared to hike approximately 2,000 feet in vertical elevation a day while covering four to six miles on foot. This outfitter films his sheep hunts at no additional charge, this is more than just an added bonus, its the preservation of memories and the ability to share them.

They offer traditional, authentic, comfortable wilderness experiences and true adventure hunting at its finest. You’ll stay in wall-type tents at the base camps and backpacking tents in spike camps; along with all the wilderness comforts that don’t require electricity. When in any of their base camps, you will be served hearty full- course meals such as eggs, bacon, pancakes, omelets, fresh fruits, smoked salmon, steak, chicken, wild game meat, pastas, fresh salads and breads. If you travel to any of the spike camps, they will provide you with an array of delicious lightweight meals and other fine high-energy foods. As a result of my attention to detail, you’ll have a unique Alaskan hunting adventure in which you’ll be comfortable, dry and well fed with delicious and nutritious food.
