DESCRIPTION:

Are you a hunter that wants a truly remote Alaskan experience? Though the majority of Alaska hunts will deliver a remote wilderness feel to some degree, this outfitter offers a more classic Alaskan experience than most. He and his family live primarily off the land. Raising a family in remote Alaska has given them a strong tie to the land. Whether trapping, dog sledding, building log cabins, or tending a fish wheel, the outfitter and his family have carved a life out of bush Alaska. The principles and work ethic developed living off the grid has uniquely prepared them to be successful in their outfitting business. Along with a staff of like minded guides, this outfitter has successfully delivered wilderness experiences for decades. It should also be mentioned that the outfitter is a very accomplished pilot and has thousands of hours flying bush Alaska.

Hunters will be chartered from Fairbanks to a large lake where the will meet the outfitter for another flight deeper into the Alaska backcountry. From here the hunt is conducted via motorized canoe. With 200 miles of river available in the hunt area, the outfitter has been able to manage his harvest throughout the region ensuring mature bulls are available for years to come. A motorized canoe enables the guide and hunter to reach fertile hunting grounds that larger boats simply cannot reach. Floating stretches of river at first and last light during the rut has proven very successful for this outfit.

Along with a high success rate on bull moose averaging 60". The outfitter also offers a few combo hunts early in the season when grizzly bears are found searching for salmon in tributaries of this river system. These combo hunts are 14 days rather than the normal ten days. I can't imagine a more rewarding backcountry hunting experience than a canoe-based, backcountry grizzly / moose combo on a remote salmon stream in bush Alaska.

Hunters should consider having tags in their pocket for grizzly bear, black bear, and wolf. Bears can be harvested for a trophy fee and wolvescan be taken free of charge.
