DESCRIPTION:

This outfitter was born and raised in Northern California, and has been hunting the state his entire life. They have been guiding for over 10 years in this region. Their location is in Monterey County, in and around King City. Spanning over thousands of combined acres of some of the best habitat a hunter could dream of. Their lodge is a comfortable and clean setting right in the hunt area, and they also use other accommodations that are similar depending on where they're hunting.

Grand Slam Club Ovis and Safari Club have recognized these buffalo as wild. The best time to hunt is the first of November through the first of March. This Free-Range Bison hunt does not require drawing a permit, and each year they successfully harvest 3-5 bulls, and the outfitter welcomes all types of hunters. For the archery hunter, blinds are set up on waterholes at 25 yards or less, or spots and stalk is always an option. All guides are archery hunters themselves, so you will be in good hands. For the rifles hunters, expect shots ranging from 200 to 300 yards as an average. The terrain will allow for longer shots as well for those out there that can shoot longer distances. Usually it isn’t needs as the ranches allow for great spot and stalk opportunities, along with closing the distance to manageable and ethical ranges.

Bison hunting in California can be a unique and exciting experience for those who enjoy the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt. Hunting free-range bison requires skill, patience, and knowledge of the animal's behavior and habitat. California is one of the few states in the United States where free-range bison hunting is legal, and it can provide hunters with an opportunity to connect on a true trophy of a lifetime. In addition to the thrill of the hunt, bison hunting can also provide hunters with a sense of heritage and tradition. Bison played a crucial role in the history and culture of Native American tribes and were once the mainstay of the Great Plains ecosystem. Hunting bison can be a way to connect with this heritage and understand the animal's importance in American history.

Furthermore, hunting bison can be an eco-friendly way to obtain meat. Bison are free-range and consume native grasses, which means that their meat is healthier, leaner, and more sustainable than beef. It's one of the many perks of hunting these awesome animals. The meat is good year round, and the hides are best when harvested during the coldest months. The bulls weigh between 700 and 2,000 lbs depending on what you find and connect on.
