The hunting grounds sit thirty-five minutes from San Francisco, forty-five minutes from Half Moon Bay, and roughly two and a half hours from Monterey, which makes this one of the few quality hunts in the West that does not require a long drive or a flight to reach.

HUNT DETAILS:
This is one of the few ranches in California that guarantees a shot opportunity on every hunt. Hunts are tailored to preference and skill level, and any weapon is welcome. California is known for trophy-class wild boar, and this ranch holds one of the healthiest hog populations in the northern part of the state. Days start before sunrise with a drive through the ranch to a blind, stand, or lookout point. Much of the hunting is spot and stalk, but hunters who would rather sit are set up in areas of heavy pig activity. Guided hunts use the entire ten thousand acre ranch, and this is also one of the few operations offering Texas-style estate hunts inside a high-fenced preserve. Hunters can work the open ranch, the preserve, or both. Either way, seeing fifty or more pigs in a single day is normal, ranging from under one hundred pounds to well over three hundred. Guides help evaluate animals so a hunter takes the boar or the meat pig they came for.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Lodging is a lodge with a western feel and the amenities of a resort. The large great room is the center of it, used for meals, watching a game, and telling stories at the end of the day. A full kitchen makes cooking a social event rather than a chore. Guest suites sit around the great room, each sleeping up to five with a private bathroom and a stove. For anyone who prefers something more rustic, a hunting camp is set up for trailers or tents with power, water, and plenty of firewood. Hunters also get unlimited access to the lake for fishing and to the pistol and rifle ranges.
