DESCRIPTION:

This HFA Outfitter specializes in trophy bull elk and cow elk hunts within unit 61. They have the privilege of hunting on private properties and an extensive area of public land in the Uncompahgre National Forest and Bureau of Land Management. The landscape is diverse, comprising high desert plateaus and deep canyons, with scrub oak, ponderosa pine, and lodge pole pine providing cover for the elk, which love to rut in this area. The resident elk herd remains in the region throughout the year, providing them with the opportunity to hunt from September to mid-December on both public and private land.

These trophy bull elk hunts are exceptional, with daily sightings of numerous bulls, and an average harvest size 280-330 inches. Their cow elk hunts are affordable and highly successful, making them an excellent option for hunters with varying levels of physical ability. They utilizes vehicles and ATVs to glass for elk and once they have located the elk, they can make a short stalk to get within range. For those hardcore hunters, there are also physically demanding areas with steep canyons that hold hidden herds of elk, offering a thrilling challenge. They provide lodging, meals, and vehicle/ATV transportation for their guests.
