DESCRIPTION:

This outfitter has several ranches with large quantities of deer on them. On this hunt you will be looking for mature bucks in the 117" to 120"+ class. There’s also some excellent public lands that are worth hunting, and they do hunt them if they have a line a good buck that's worth going after. The terrain on the private ranches is very easy rolling country with scattered brush, with fir and oak trees. The forest ground is somewhat steep and brushy with some open/old growth timber. There are also some steep canyons, as well as clear-cuts and grassy meadows. As with elk, this outfitter likes to spend a large amount of time glassing for deer. They spend most of their time scouting in the off-season, with countless hours spent behind optics.

When they reach your destination, they will start at higher ground, spot the buck that they're after, and then begin the stalk. When a stalk is made, the outfitter will go with you to help get as close as possible. Physical condition is not usually an issue as you can drive as close as possible before starting your stalk. The only time they will be doing considerable walking is when they need to hunt a closed area. The only reason that you will walk into somewhere is if the outfitter is aware of exactly what you’re after. Shooting ranges are typically inside of 400 yards and the outfitter will always make sure that the Hunter has a very steady rest before taking the shot.

The muzzleloader hunt is a trophy hunt during the peak of the rut. There’s usually snow which helps concentrate the animals on the winter range. There are several nice bucks to choose from every hunt. The outfitter recommends holding out for a 4 x 4 in the 118" to 120" class with good forks and lots of mass. This is a big country with old growth timber brushy clear-cuts, and snow. They spend most of their time driving to different vantage points and glassing. Time is spent on the trails in ridges as well, looking for a big buck or a track to follow. This is a hunt for serious trophy hunters. A monster buck can be taken during this hunt at any given time. The entire hunt is in high country, but the ground is easy to traverse.

This is a great hunt to kill a B&C blacktail in southwest Oregon. This outfitter offers archery, muzzleloader, and rifle hunts with guaranteed landowner tags, thus bypassing the draw. If you are someone that has drawn a tag, this outfitter is also a great option to hunt with. Their private lands offer some of the best blacktail hunting in the west!

MUZZLELOADER HUNTS:
Their late season muzzleloader hunts are during the peak of the rut. This is one of the best deer hunts in the state that usually takes 12+ points to draw as a non-resident. Lucky for you, the outfitter has landowner tags which allows you to bypass the draw.
