DESCRIPTION:

This hunt occurs on Kodiak Island, which is an Archipelago that spans about 177 miles, and encompasses nearly 5,000 square miles. It’s the largest group, of islands, and two-thirds of it consists of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. Close to 3,500 giant Kodiak brown bears make their home there, along with Sitka black-tailed deer, fox, mountain goats, reindeer, roosevelt elk, stellar sea lions, sea ducks, numerous whale species, salmon, crab and halibut.

This outfitter operates all over Alaska, and primarily focuses on big game hunting and fishing. They offer hunting, fishing, outdoor adventuring, flying, rafting, biking, hiking, photography, and many other outdoor services. These trips include Kodiak Island, Alaska Peninsula, Chugach Mountains, and Alaska Range. Their main bases of operation are Anchorage (Central Alaska) and Kodiak Island, Alaska.

Hunting Sitka Black tailed deer with this outfitter will begin with a charter flight to a remote area South of Kodiak. The area is virtually un-hunted because of its remoteness and has a large population of deer. By the time they hunt the area late in the year, most of the deer have moved to the lower country areas. This area has a stable deer population that is not effected by harsh winters like other places. The terrain is open grass and rolling hills, and much of this part of the island can be accessed by 4 wheelers and hunters of all physical abilities can do this hunt. All hunters should have several opportunities at a bucks between 85-100”s. Color phase red fox are plentiful and have a harvest limit of two. Days can be short in late fall and you will leave camp at first light and return at dark.

These hunts are high quality 1 on 1 hunts, and low volume, which ensures a great hunt. They are 6 days trips, including one day of travel on the front and back ends of the hunt, with four full days of hunting. While there are no guarantees in hunting, they guarantee that they will give you 100% effort. They have maintained a very high success rate through hard work, pride in their trophies, and ethical practices. They are personally involved in all aspects of the trip, making your satisfaction their primary goal.

Lodging in this fly out hunt is cabin based with home cooked meals by your guide. The cabin is pole building style with bunks and a wood stove. Warm and dry, no running water! The hunts occur from October and run up to December 10th.
