DESCRIPTION:

Spring hunts have many advantages. If you are lucky and find a bear that isn't rubbed you have an amazing trophy that can't be topped by a fall bear. A lack of conflict is another advantage of spring bear hunting, with no other seasons open you can focus on your bear hunt without impacting other hunting goals. The best advantage of this hunt is weather. Don't forget your sun block! These long, bright spring days are often some of the best of the year. Alaska weather can can be difficult in any season but late winter and spring in interior Alaska generally means better weather.

Though experience helps, a novice rider can accomplish this hunt. With hundreds of square miles of huntable ground, your guide can lead you to a spring grizzly at a safe and reasonable pace.

So head up to the Alaska Range and help out the moose, caribou, and sheep by harvesting a spring bear. Make sure you have a few wolf tags in your pocket for the journey, the outfitter will be more than happy to divert from bears if a wolf makes an appearance!

This outfitter generally hunts his fall grizzly bears on a trophy fee basis but a hunt can be arranged. Discuss this with your hunt advisor and he will get you set up. .
