For over 25 years, this outfitter has been operating in Newfoundland and has established one of the best operations up there! They offer remote fly-in hunting lodge and ground based lodge moose hunts, woodland caribou hunts, and black bear hunts.
This outfitter offers premium trophy spring black bear hunts out of their ground based lodges. Their focus on bears revolves around quality bears instead of quantity. In the past clients have harvested bears in excess of 500lbs+, and this area has been identified by the DNR as a major problem area for bears in regards to the high population and predation they have on the local caribou herds.
They use tree stands over bait for these bear hunts. Evenings will be spent sitting over baited stands and mornings may entail a spot and stalk hunt if one chooses. Combine speckled trout fishing with this package at no extra cost. They have trout fishing with trout ranging from pan sized – 2lbs at the hunting locations. Also, fly-out Atlantic Salmon fishing is available in July. These hunts will be fully guided and as accommodating as they other hunts they offer.
These bear hunts run from last week of May until early July 2013. Also, they use spike camps at this location as they have a vast area, and some of the stands are 25-30 miles from lodge. The run up to 35 active bait stands 35 stands that are up and running a few months before the hunts begin. With the stands in place and all being active by late summer, they have great expectations each season for their clients. Do not delay if you are looking for a trophy bruin. They have accommodations for 6 hunters at their main lodge, and normally take 6 only if in the same party.
