DESCRIPTION:

This is a small family based operation that is dedicated to ensuring you have a high-quality trip and the best opportunity to be successful on your hunt. With over 20 years experience guiding/outfitting in Alberta, BC, and the NWT, this operation knows what it takes, and they are hard working, enthusiastic, and enjoy the many challenges of these adventures.

There aren't too many hunts more exciting than chasing Whitetails during the rut. Located about two and a half hours North of Edmonton, this area is widely considered to be one of, if not the best zones for Big Northern Deer in Canada. The farmland and swamps, mixed with big bush and timber, creates a perfect habitat which continually produces mature bucks, and the past success is proof in and of itself. Check out the photo gallery to see the trophy photos.

Hunting each season is done all through the month of November. The high deer population provides the perfect opportunity to be selective and help you get your dream Whitetail. If you can lay off the trigger and let the 150's walk, there is true potential to shoot a "next-level" buck in this area. Depending on where and what the deer are doing determines how you will be hunting.

Average bucks harvested in the past scored just over 150", and if hunters could have laid off the trigger, the average would be closer to 160", but we all know how buck-fever can set in! This area produces exceptional deer, and the genetics are what whitetail hunters dream of. Bucks are heavy, dark-horned, long-tined, and sometimes wide! To give you an idea, the largest buck taken in this area scored over 240" and was harvested in 2016. So hunters will be in an area that produces bucks ranging from 150" on up to well over 200" from past/proven results.

They use 4X4 trucks, ATVs, and sometimes a little walking for access. Our most effective method of hunting is done from the stand. They use tower stands, tree stands, and ground blinds. These are set up on fields, cut-lines or back in the timber/bush country on scrapes and natural travel routes. In the right situations, spot and stalk can also be quite productive. They provide heaters on cold days as required and/or needed as well.

When you are not out chasing whitetails you will be staying in a comfortable lodge where homemade meals will be provided on a daily basis.
