The camp is located approximately five miles from the Southeast corner of Yellowstone National Park in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. These Thorofare elk hunting trips consists of old school hunting in some of the most magnificent elk country on the planet! All fair chase elk hunting in its purest form!
This is a horseback pack-in-hunt with the main camp being 20 miles from the trailhead. Once in camp, the hunting areas are accessed by horseback and on foot depending upon where they are planning to hunt that particular day. These rifle rut hunts run Sept 19 through Oct 23 and they utilize many styles of hunting, including spot and stalk, stand hunting, calling, and still hunting. They focus on hunting the native elk early in the season and weather permitting, more migratory elk in the later hunts. All hunts are eight days with one day spent riding in to camp, six days of hunting, and one day riding out. They provide the hunters with clean, comfortable tents complete with cots and wood stoves along with all food and lodging during the course of the hunt
Mule deer hunts are available in October, and they are on a prime migration route easily accessible from camp.
They also offer a limited number of archery hunts in early September.
