If you are a DIY hunter looking for an affordable Alaskan adventure this might be just what you are looking for. This Transporter offers high success, affordable, and flexible transportation to the Alaska backcountry. This opportunity is truly DIY, hunters will be responsible for all camp equipment, meals, etc. Weight will be a consideration on this hunt as aircraft have limited capacity, hunters will need to plan accordingly.
Hunters can expect to be dropped off in areas that have produced bears in the past and should expect to see multiple bears on their trip, weather permitting. As this is not a guided hunt, the timing and duration of the hunt is largely up to the you. Nonresident hunters are limited to black bears only as brown bears require a guide.
It is highly recommended that hunters employ the local hunt expeditor that is very well versed in these operations. By taking advantage of this option, all of the logistics are handled from the airport to the your lodging location and pick up after the hunt. This service will run $500-$700 but is well worth the expense to alleviate the stress of logistics. Additional services for shipping meat, hide, and skulls is also available through the expeditor for additional cost. Hunters should find this service quite reasonable. (In most cases Expeditor costs can be split between multiple hunters)
