Founded in 2014, this HFA Endorsed Outfitter is a small, family run big game outfitter located outside of Grand Junction, Colorado. Their passion for what they do is as large as the mountains they do it in. Being fortunate enough to live close to the Utah / Colorado border, they have obtained license in both states. They are in the woods year-round, constantly learning about the species they hunt and the country they hunt them in. Their number one focus is to provide each client with a high quality hunt. They are not a large operation and only work with a small handful of guides. All the guides in their camps are men they know very well and have worked with in the past or came highly recommended by others in the industry. Each and every one of them is very professional and contributes a major role in the success of their hunts. They take a great deal of pride in the hunts they guide and put a ton of personal time in the off season scouting and preparing for season. This outfitter offers fully furnished Utah bear hunts with hounds and bait in the Bookcliffs unit, the La sal Mountains, and the Central Mountains Manti unit. Based on the state line in Mack, Colorado, the Bookcliffs and La Sal’s units are right in their backyard. This puts them only a few short minutes away from some of the best bear hunting Utah has to offer. If you spend a minute viewing you will quickly see they are very passionate about hunting with hounds and have conducted countless bear and mountain lion hunts through out the state.
Same as their lion hunts these hunts will include two guides (one of which is the owner) working out of separate trucks looking for your bear each day. Having two guides not only doubles our chances of finding a really good bear, (they prefer to only harvest trophy bears) it also adds a safety factor while we are deep in the woods.
Due to the limited availability of these tags and the different situation of each tag holder, they are willing to build you a custom hunt package that suits your needs.
They breed and train their own strain of bear hounds that are bear catching machines! This gives them the ability to catch cats anytime, anyplace, in almost any condition. They are fortunate enough to live on the border of Colorado and Utah which gives them a very large area to hunt Covering seven game management units in Colorado as well as a large portion of eastern Utah, they hunt nearly 5 days a week 6-8 months out of the year to ensure their hounds are as good as they can be.
One thing that sets their operation apart is being fully prepared for your hunt. When it comes to guided black bear hunts that means quality equipment. Covering country as efficiently as possible is the key to consistent success. The terrain and conditions vary greatly on each hunt, with that, their means of transportation will also vary. You can expect anything from off-road equipped Toyota trucks, snowmobiles, a side by side with tracks, and in some cases horses/mules. No matter what mother nature throws their way, they are prepared for it.
They will notify you prior to the start of your hunt on which state to purchase a tag from.
If the conditions are right, once you harvest your first cat you will be given the opportunity to harvest a second cat in the other state if you wish to do so. **Please inquire for more details**
