HUNT DETAILS:
These grizzly bear hunts offer multiple options depending on the hunter’s preferred experience, mobility, and desired level of adventure. The spring baited bear hunt is a 7-day hunt that combines comfort, convenience, and opportunity. These hunts are accessible by road, allowing hunters to arrive and be in the field the same day without the need for additional remote flights. Access to bait sites is primarily by side-by-side, which helps minimize walking for hunters who prefer a less physically demanding experience.
The baited hunt is a strong option for families, couples, archery hunters, and those looking for an enjoyable Alaska bear hunt without the demands of a remote backpack or tent-camp style experience. The hunt takes place in a predator control unit, allowing hunters the opportunity to harvest up to two bears per year where legally permitted. With over a decade of experience operating in this area, the outfitter has developed a strong understanding of bear movement, bait site activity, and how to create a safe, organized, and effective hunting experience.
A July spot-and-stalk grizzly bear hunt is also offered as a 10-day option. This hunt is designed for hunters wanting a more active glassing and stalking experience while still having the comfort of a non-tent base camp. Hunting is conducted primarily by vehicle and side-by-side, allowing guides and hunters to cover country efficiently, glass productive areas, and adapt quickly as conditions change. Hunters should expect long days of glassing, evaluating bear activity, and making stalks when the right opportunity presents itself.
The July hunt is limited to a small number of hunters at a time and is offered during select dates only. It can be a good fit for rifle hunters, archery hunters seeking opportunity, and hunters who want the challenge of a spot-and-stalk bear hunt without committing to a highly physical backpack-style hunt. Because much of the hunt is based around glassing and access by vehicle or side-by-side, it can also work well for hunters who may not want an extremely demanding wilderness hunt.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The spring baited hunts are based from well-appointed camper trailers with real beds and hot showers. Meals are freshly prepared, home-cooked, and designed to keep hunters comfortable and fueled throughout the hunt. This setup provides a comfortable base while still allowing hunters to experience a quality Alaska bear hunt.
The June & July hunts are based from comfortable 5th wheel trailers with real beds and hot showers. For certain opportunities, spike camps may also be used to position hunters closer to bear activity and increase time in productive country. This hunt is not a traditional tent-camp hunt for the majority of the experience, making it a good option for hunters who prefer a more comfortable base camp.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
The required hunting license and tags for this hunt may be purchased online before your hunt or over the counter upon arrival at a license vendor. Important for non-residents: to hunt Dall sheep, mountain goat, or brown/grizzly bear, you must be accompanied by an Alaska-licensed guide.
