Mountain Goat hunts require a great deal of determination and a high degree of conditioning from the hunter. If you're a mountain hunter you know that goats live on the vertical making these the most physically demanding hunts in North America. It is best that you are in shape for the mountains and ready to be pushed to your limits if the opportunity requires it, and so that you can take advantage of every opportunity. The HFA team has hunted with this outfitter several times and stands behind them as an HFA Endorsed Outfitter.
This location of BC offers unparalleled opportunities. This expansive area is home to a robust population of approximately 850+ mountain goats, with hunters often achieving 90-100% of their allotted quotas. The terrain features beautiful, open country, rolling hills, and high plateaus, providing ideal habitats for these magnificent animals. To navigate this challenging landscape, horses are utilized for logistical support, especially when traveling up to the plateaus, effectively saving hunters from at least 1,000 feet of climbing. Additionally, floatplanes grant access to higher elevation lakes that are otherwise unreachable by horses, further enhancing the hunting experience.
Mountain goat hunts in this region demand significant physical endurance and determination, as these animals inhabit steep, vertical terrains, making the pursuit both challenging and rewarding. Given that goat tags are issued on a limited quota basis, it's imperative to ensure their proper utilization. Prospective hunters are strongly advised to engage in a thorough pre-conditioning regimen to maximize their chances of success.
