Traveling West over the Alaska Range a hunter can see Alaska unfold in front of them as mountains give way to tundra benches and ridges that spread over the country. The rivers that have eroded this country over time have left a landscape full of prime bear habitat. From the first spring green up, to the salmon of summer, through the berry season, the bears that inhabit this country have everything they need to grow in size and numbers. This same habitat also offers the hunter an opportunity to glass and travel in pursuit of the great bears.

A spring snowmobile hunt in this country is nothing short of amazing. After a beautiful charter flight to a friendly, welcoming village, hunters will board ski equipped Super Cubs for there trip to the backcountry lodge. Once at the lodge, hunters will stow gear in their heated cabin and head in to the lodge for relaxation, visiting, and dining. With a chef on sight, hunters will enjoy hot, hardy, delicious meals in comfort near the woodstove.

Days are getting long this time of year and hunters will have ample time to cover country in search of bears. Each day new bears will emerge from dens looking for their first meal. Some bears will linger near the dens for days while others will depart, cross-country, to hunt moose. The Outfitter's extensive experience in this country has taught him where to look for these spring bears. Popular denning sights are consistent from year to year and your outfitter knows all of them within his vast guide area.

Riding a snowmobile (snowmachine by Alaska terms), in this country is not overly technical. Guides have often broken trails throughout the region to facilitate efficient movement. Novice riders of reasonable ability can navigate this terrain without much concern. These forays into the winter wilderness should be enjoyed and appreciated as the views are nothing short of incredible.

This outfit has maintained a high success rate on bears over 8' with several bears exceeding 9.5'.

If you have a desire to see some country and chase brown bears during April, give us a call, we can get you there.
