This HFA Endorsed Outfitter offers remote high country Colorado Elk, Mule Deer, Black Bear, Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goat and Moose hunts. They specialize in all methods of hunting: Archery, Muzzleloader and Rifle. They operate in the San Juan National Forest and the Weminuche Wilderness. They are committed to providing you with the best guides, equipment, livestock, accommodations and the best hunting experience that Colorado has to offer. Whether you're looking to go hunting, fishing or on a summer horseback trip, they'll help you have a successful adventure!

Whether you want to go Archery hunting, Muzzle Loader hunting or Rifle hunting, this is a great hunt!

These trips are first class, as they provide seasoned, professional guides, deluxe camps, high quality meals, and personalized attention to each guest. They own their own stock and their horses and mules are the finest in the business. They have 5 different camp locations that vary from 3-10 miles from trailhead. This takes roughly 1-4 hours on horseback to access camp.

Archery Hunting:
For the big game Archery Hunter, nothing is more exciting than hunting elk during the rut. September in the Colorado Mountains is considered by many to be the ultimate hunt, period. The thrill of a close encounter with a big bugling bull elk is like no other, and with this outfitter, they specialize in making it happen.

Their guides are serious archery hunters and experienced callers who consistently bring elk in for good close shots. They have great respect for bow hunters and appreciate the challenge and skill that the sport requires.

During this early season, when the elk are in rut, they tell them where they are by bugling, and they go to them. Instead of limiting bow hunters to specific camps, they take them to the elk. They may also switch camps during the week. In recent years, this stay mobile and "go where the elk are" approach has dramatically improved shot opportunities.

Hunters should arrive in good physical shape, ready to ride, walk, and hunt hard. Conditioning is important and the better shape the hunter is in, the better chances of getting hunters where they need to be to have a successful elk hunt. As is usually the case with limited range weapons, success in taking the animal is highly dependent on the hunter's physical ability to get where he needs to be to make the shot.

Muzzleloader Hunting:
Muzzleloader hunters tend to have the woods to themselves during this special time of year. The foliage is beautiful, the temperatures are moderate; elk are vocal and responsive to calls. Muzzleloader season is one of the best times to be in the woods. Some of their finest trophies are taken during this season. It's not surprising that black powder hunting has become so popular and successful.

Rifle Hunting:
These hunts take place from the same camps they offer the archery and muzzleloader hunts from. During these hunts, they spend a lot of time hiking and glassing as the bulls have typically pulled away from the cows and are not bugling.

Overview:
Hunting camps range from 8,500 to over 11,000 feet in elevations. They access them by horse and mule. These are fully guided 2x1 or 1x1 full service hunts with everything provided except for weapon, licenses, and personal gear. All camps have heavy-duty wall tents with canvas floors, rain flies, and wood or propane heat. They accommodate two to four hunters each and are furnished with cots, foam pads, lanterns and stove. Most camps have a separate cook tent, outhouse and a shower tent.

Don't expect to lose weight on any of these hunts. When hunting with this outfitter, a typical breakfast is French toast, eggs cooked to order, thick sliced bacon, potatoes, juice and coffee. Their hunters pack hearty lunches to pack in day packs or saddlebags, so lunch doesn't interrupt the hunt. Evening meals may include baked ham, fried chicken, roast beef, or prime rib.
